I’ve never been one to celebrate Halloween. Blame it on my fear of everything that it stands for: ghoulish masks, props of doom, and anything horrific. I was just about ready for an intimate hang out at my place to welcome my 21st, but then I got a message from Mikko asking if I wanted to celebrate it in Fiamma. I thought it over, called Tricia, asked if she wanted a joint party – since our plans last year didn’t push through – and said yes. Everything was decided on a whim, something I definitely wasn’t used to, but it felt nice. Very nice, actually. Maybe this is all part of Roxci 2.0 or should I say 2.1 – did you see what I just did there?

The birthday girls!

I’m so grateful that Tricia lives near me. We’re just crazy weird together. Haha!

Since Tricia came over to my place, I took it upon myself to make us a little pre drink. I started at 4pm, opened a bottle of Amarula and a can of Nescafe Latte, and got us covered with my first experiment alone. I loved it so much that I called Tricia and kept raving about it. She thought I was exaggerating at first but after one sip, she was blown away. Haha! Yet another go-to mix to add to my drinks list.

I think I had 8 glasses of this in total. Cue “weeyoooooo” here.

A few days before the party, both of us were panicking about our costumes. With initial choices such as SWAT girl and Batgirl, we finally made a decision.

Say hello to the warrior, who’s preparing to be legal in all countries.

Not so little Red Riding Hood.

Mom fed us such good food that night that we were scared about not being able to fit into our costumes. Haha!

See how much we love you, Deej?!

What if we make this an annual thing?

Trouble starts… Now. Haha! Which bottle should we get?

I think Maronne looks good with blonde hair. What do you think?

I missed you, Raisa!

New friends for the night? Hahaha!!

Clearly, the alcohol kicked in from this point on.

The amount of love that I’ve received the past couple of days have made me so happy. Thank you all so much for the messages, wall posts, calls, hugs, and gifts! Really, guys, I appreciate it so much. I had a blast! I’d even go so far with saying that this year’s celebration was better than my debut.:)

Some pictures grabbed from Fiamma, Maronne, Sam, and Raisa.

Ejay’s parties are always one for the books. Last year, he celebrated his 21st birthday on a yacht that sailed across Manila Bay. This year he raised the bar with a party bus, Black Fleet style.

Before I move on to pictures taken in the bus, allow me to play fashion blogger and upload a few outfit shots that Maronne took.

Dress from Forever21. Heels from Possibility at The Ramp.

Purse from Dorothy Perkins. P.S. This bag died that night.

We started the party bus route with a round of good cheer, boxes of pizza, and several bags of chips. I, for one, had to mentally stop myself from devouring half of the food supplies that night. Oh well, what else is new?

Why hello there, Mikey!

Bibo, me, Reg, Raisa, and Ejay

Looking untidy next to Jaime and Nikki. Haha!

Forgive me, Ejay. I was just so tired that night. Hahah!

Letting the birthday boy be a pimp for the night.

Happy birthday again, Ejay! Thanks for the invite!

P.S. I’m guessing next year’s party will be on a plane?

A couple of weeks ago, blueREP was contacted by Provago, a creative market solutions agency, who asked that we perform as their opening number in a show for their clients. All we had to do was sing and dance a song on… the Newport stage of Resorts World Manila! I know, I still can’t believe it actually. I can finally say that I’ve performed on such a grand stage.

I went into the Provago event thinking that what they wanted was simple enough; it’d be easy to pull off. Wrong. First off, the song they had us perform was Hairspray’s You Can’t Stop The Beat. Definitely one of the musical world’s longest and most tiring songs ever. Let’s not forget that besides the insane dance moves, everyone had to sing without showing any signs of catching their breath. Oh and if that weren’t enough, the cast had to be all smiles throughout the song. There was simply no room for tired eyes, nope, not at all.

I was fortunate enough to be cast as Amber Von Tussle so I had minimal dancing and did more of acting. Not a lot of people know this, but I’ve always loved to play her. She was just such a character. She was the mean and popular girl. Before being given the opportunity to be her, I had always secretly wished to play one of those stereotypes. So I’m glad I got to check that off my bucket list! I’ve also been able to play Penny in a different performance before. I wonder, what’s next for me in matters concerning Hairspray. Maybe next time I can be Tracy? Hahahah!!

Because of the minimal dancing of Amber and Velma Von Tussle (played by Raisa), we had more time for pictures! Haha, that's me, Raisa, and Cassie, who played Motormouth Mabel.

I look different here.

I have had such high admiration for my fellow Provago performers after this event. I mean seriously, if you could’ve seen the insane choreography by Nina and the magical musical direction of Ejay in action, you’d be in awe with how they pieced everything together in such an enjoyable way. You wouldn’t even know that they were tired. Sure, the stamina training consisting of (1) jogging to the song, (2) planking, and maybe even (3) a couple of rounds of volleyball helped, but I think what really brought the whole team of performers to encompass such a positive energy was their heart. You could sense the friendships that had been strengthened over the course of the rehearsals. And that’s what reminded me of my reason for staying and participating so much in blueREP. It’s because I know that no matter how many times I stick with them, I still continue growing as an individual person and also as a member of the organization. It’s because the members still constantly surprise me with their talents and their passion for both performing and producing. It’s because of well, as cheesy as it may sound, the undying heart and spirit of blueREP that is apparent in all of its members.

Congrats to us, Provago performers! It was a joy spending half of my sembreak with you!
